the downfall of record labels

a few months ago i went to my hometown where i grew up and i was welcomed with warm hands by my long lost friends who were now opening their own record label.which did not surprise me because we all thought that we could sing and rap but as they were planning their management team their never mentioned public relations and marketing as a management communication tool but they were gone use promotions as they only communication strategy.which made me give them some little education about the practice of public relations and the value and importance of marketing and public relations in thier organisation.this made me ask myself on how do these record labels survive without this communications function
the  answer i was looking  was the downfall of record label because they do not survive the fall and i later went on to reading a book that made a conclusion on what i was thinking was the truthhow the wired generation revolutionized music.

the south African music industry is growing everyday causing a huge demand for music producers and artist to open up they own record labels which is very good because many raw talent is been discovered. but the problem is these people who own this record labels who do not have enough management skills to run their organisations and they do not use marketing and public relations tools for their communications and media relations causing many organisations to close down because of bad publicity and lack of promotions this proves that without good communications strategies, media management traing and good media relationships which are constantly maintained the organisation will fall http://www.pampelmoose.com/.

PR IS ESSENTIAL IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY

some say all you need is love while other say all you need is music because music has always been one of those few things in the world that has the power to bring people to together.while most of the music artist are very talent and will mostly die for fame and staying in the lime light is very important inoder to sustain their musical profession and all they need is a good publicity team to do that.

public relations functions are much more valued and significant than people realise or notice because public relations generates publicity, generate value far above and beyond album sale and can even get their  music artist on the billboard charts.ACCORDING TO JACQUELINE AKBARIAN(DO YOU NEED AN INTERSHIP TO GET A JOB)i believe the record labels and publicity team of both the superstars Madonna and Britney spears, knew exactly how they were going to be branded, because both the women which followed with the idea.the events and the endorsement deals and this was done with public relations and branding are the elements that turn ordinary artists into living legends.

the publicity team at the record label has to alwayss be smart ,creative and help create and build an image of an artist .because if the image of the artist change from time to time as the artist grow older and become better know throughout the world and the publicity team is to keep the fans wanting and asking for more of the artist.  for more information go to www.blogger.jounalistics.com/2010.za

just cant ignore it

the time for change has arrived and it cannot be ignored anymore as many publicist in the field of the music industry are adapting to new communication strategist such as the new media. the new media is a fast is  communication tool that makes it easy for music artists, bands, record labels and publicists to stay in touch with the fast changing world and have successful public relations campaigns.HTTP://www.social%20media%20and%20music%20pr.com/ a publicist at the beggars group of labels Sony klolowart sayes that her company uses social media to discover new music artist to work with on the social network my space where most bands post their music videos. and if the record label likes their music they investigate their public image on their facebook and twitter page to see how do they present themselves and are they professional enough to work with them because these days in the music industry is longer about how talented you but about your public image.

the time for change is now the music industry publiclist have to start embracing the social media's importance and teach thier clinets and artist to use these social media tools strategically and also use it thier concerts for audience impact and connectness and lastly simply creating publicity for themselves and all this could be a start of adatping to changing ways of doing business and and if we as publicist adapt to this new media we keeping public relations a relevent profession as we learn how to balancing traditional public relation with the opportunties the new media has brought.

as the new media invades the public relations world things are evolving in ways we can't even imagine that is why it is so exciting because rules are changing and roles are becoming less defined, but public relations keeps the bar vary high in scanning the latest trends  before even the publics know about it because marketing is now using social media to market thier music artist and the services, so that is it you can try and ignor the importance of new media and stick to your traditional communications ways chances are that your campaign will be less effect on your targted audience.
