the parltones go green pr

photo taken at the parltones website
IN the practice of public relations is either you adapt or perish that is the same in the music industry.as many going green projects are under way many public relation practitioner would tell you that in the practice of public relations. green projects are happening all the world so it is time for public relations practitioners to keep up with the times and make public relations a trendy profession and adapt to what is called green pr.

the publicist of the parltones clearly adapted to the environment when the parltones were made the spokesperson for the carbon free programme which is to plant trees in south Africa and since than they have teamed up with the south African broacating corporation (sabc) 3. and part of their public relations plan which is aimed at changing south Africans perceptions and behaviour about saving the environment and going green they have made a music video.  "stars fall down" which shows the parltones in the near future viewing the burnt out earth from a spaceship whilst growing a new plant and this music video has had a big impact on the people unlike other projects this one really did evoke change.

this is really a great public relation programme that even got great publicist for the band this shows that in the practice of public relation and the music industry we should operate in a open system adapt quick to the environment in this case the( music industry) or you will perish for more information go to this link(parltons and carbon free)

  7. It is rare for musical artists to want to make a differance in environmental issues, its usually about combating crime and HIV and AIDS, so this is quiet refreshing.

  10. it is a good thing that this artists chose to be unique and focus on enviromental issues and give HIV/AIDS a break because it has been almost every artists project, though it was not a bad thing. and again i think they made an alarming statement to the other artists that they should be unique in a sense that they still shake hands with the future.

  11. This is a very good way of raising awareness for the fight against global warming especially by prominent people such as Parlitones, and I think is a good campaign too because its gonna generate publicity for them as well as making them good public figures because this shows that they don't only care on getting publicity but value nature as well

  13. Well said @ Music Avenue, I have to take off my hat for The Ptones! I wasn't really a follower of their music, but after their "going green" campaign, I've come to know more about them - a good PR strategy indeed! So many selfish performers out there can learn a lot from this!

  14. I think this is a good initiative but who is it aimed at really? in South Africa, majority of the population is black people and even though we know about this group of artists, we don't really listen to their music. so my question to you is, is this aimed at the White minority? and come to think of it, how many black people know about going green? from what I've seen, green is not so big in South Africa yet.
